Our Goals

By 2009, COMPASS seeks to improve the health and education status of 23 million Nigerians. 

COMPASS envisions a Nigeria where:

  • Mothers safely give birth to their babies;
     
  • Childhood diseases and maternal and infant mortality rates are in steady decline;
     
  • All Nigerians have access to appropriate and timely health care services;
     
  • Women and men successfully promote health and education in their communities and within their families;
     
  • Girls and boys receive quality education in reading and mathematics;
     
  • Communities and local governments actively work to improve access to quality health and education services;
     
  • Health facilities and schools adhere to national policies and standards of practice;
     
  • Teachers and health providers apply recognized best practices to improve the quality of their work;
    Pupil enrolment, retention, and achievement steadily increases, and school environments foster girls’ participation; and
     
  • Local Government Areas regularly and adequately plan and budget for health and education services.
